| Description of the POI |
Local craftsman producing baskets as a hobby, both for personal use and for sale (made to order items). Since approximately 12 years ago, he has been teaching his craft to the local University of the Third Age.
The local basket-making focusses on products linked to the transportation and conservation of natural products (hay, long-life agricultural products etc). The material used is wood collected from the surrounding woods. Usually the picking up of wood (hazelnut tree, viburnum, service tree, cornel tree) takes place in autumn, and the crafting of the baskets in winter.
Considering Mr Dino and other craftsman’s availability, it would be possible to organize full-immersion courses during this period.
La cesteria locale è basata sulla produzione di manufatti funzionali alle attività tradizionali di trasporto e conservazione di materiali naturali (fieno, letame, foglie secche per la zootecnia, prodotti agricoli a lunga conservazione). Viene realizzata con materiali legnosi rinvenuti nei boschi circostanti gli abitati (nocciolo, viburno, sorbo uccellatore, corgnolo) , raccolti in tardo autunno e lavorati in inverno.
É possibile immaginare dimostrazioni e corsi immersivi in questo specifico periodo dell’anno, considerata la disponibilità del sig. Dino e di altri cestai. Inoltre il signor Dino si offre per la realizzazione su richiesta di manufatti personalizzati. |

The tourist experience would be built upon the availability and skills of the artisans. An idea could be coupling the full-immersion course with an overnight stay and guided walks during which participants could learn about the types of wood and how to collect them.
L’esperienza turistica potrebbe essere confezionata intorno alle competenze del sig. Dino o di altri mastri cestai che si rendessero disponibili. Si potrebbe prevedere dei corsi intensivi a pagamento cui abbinare pernottamento in loco e passeggiate per apprendere la tipologia di essenze legnose adatte e la loro raccolta. |

One or more weekends with a full-immersion formula (considering that the Third Age University course lasts 40 hours, it is paramount to take into account the long processing times required, even for small objects).

Mr Dino showed a great willingness towards teaching and sharing, also thanks to his long experience within the Third Age University context. And he is a great teacher indeed, with his high skills and patience and, last but not least, his attention to safety during the production process. Moreover, since he is going to retire soon, he is very interested in being involved in cultural and touristic projects.
Il sig. Dino sembra molto disponibile al racconto e all’insegnamento, vista anche la sua lunga esperienza in corsi per adulti nel contesto dell’Università della terza età. La sua pazienza e grande manualità, nonchè l’attenzione alla sicurezza durante la lavorazione, lo caratterizzano come un ottimo maestro.
Abbastanza prossimo al pensionamento, si dice interessato a possibili coinvolgimenti in progetti turistico-culturali. |
