| POI BRIEF DESCRIPTION | |
| Description of the POI | Lake Mercatale, located between the town of Mercatale and the municipal capital of Sassocorvaro, is an artificial lake closed by a dam in 1961 on the Foglia river at the foot of the hill that offer a great viewpoint for visitors. It is also near to the historic center of Sassocorvaro. The Mercatale lake provide various opportunities for soft activities, being an excellent destination for rowers, fishermen and visitors looking for relaxation, tranquillity, and an ideal place for their outings, as there is a park equipped with a bar and restaurant, open from April to October. The lake's offer is varied and is able to meet the needs of a wide range of users. There are well-kept walkways, furnishings such as canopies and benches, small beach volleyball sports facilities, a children's play area, a camper parking area, and a restaurant. Bathing is allowed in a limited area. There is an umbrella service with a lifeguard, and you can rent boats. Lovers of nature and gastronomy can delight in pleasant walks along the lake and taste typical dishes, including truffles, in the quality restaurants widespread in the area. |
