POI BRIEF DESCRIPTION
Description of the POI
One of the most old and fascinating hamlets of the municipality is the so called "Borgut". Located near Fabiani Palace, it extends along a crossroads of staircases and old lanes. One of the most peculiar houses is "Casa del Negro - in dal barbe Gjulio", featuring a closed courtyard, an old apple and pear cider press (striç) and an external oven used by all the villagers to cook focaccia bread, a staple food during festivities and local festivals.
Il borgut è uno dei borghi più belli e antichi del capoluogo. È ubicato in prossimità di Palazzo Fabiani, si sviluppa dal retro della dimora storica, in un incrocio di stradine e scalinate. Tra gli edifici del quartiere spicca senza dubbio la "Casa Del Negro" (in dal barbe Gjulio), a corte chiusa, custode di un antico torchio (striç) per la produzione del sidro di pere e di mele, risalente al 1600, e di un forno esterno per la cottura condivisa delle focacce, prodotte in gran quantità in occasione di festività.

Everybody can visit the hamlet on their own. It would be however greatly beneficial if tourist could rely on eplicative panels (ideally, technological ones) about the history of the houses and the hamlet traditions.
La visita al borgo può avvenire autonomamente, naturalmente sarebbe utile poter illustrare -attraverso pannelli o ancor meglio qualche installazione tecnologica – la storia delle case e le tradizioni di cui sono testimoni.

There aren't any limitations in accessing the hamlet. Moreover, the absence of cars further increases safety, especially with regards to small children.

Information regarding the key informants and stakeholders involved in the research
The informants (Ms Santina and her mother) have welcomed me together and have spoken at lenght about their involvement in community life as well as about the weakening of community ties, a trend which is very upsetting to them.
During Mistirs (the main festival of the village), they have tried several times to promote their hamlet and to organize cider pressing demonstrations to draw visitors' attention but they have noticed that tourists tend to stay on the main road with limited attention to off the beaten paths.
Le due signore (Santina e la madre) mi hanno ricevuto assieme e mi hanno parlato a lungo del loro impegno rispetto alla vita comunitaria e della frustrazione legata al farsi lasco del legame sociale tra compaesani.
Nello specifico, decorando il borgo a festa in occasione della manifestazione Mistirs, hanno cercato di attirare i visitatori anche nelle viuzze laterali, promuovendo dimostrazioni della produzione di sidro: segnalano però che la gente tende a rimanere sulle vie principali
