POI BRIEF DESCRIPTION
Description of the POI
Karlovačko is a popular beer in Croatia and it is the signature product of Karlovačka pivovara. Karlovačka pivovara is a brewery founded in 1854 in Karlovac, and is the backbone of the brewing tradicion in Karlovac County. Karlovačko beer is a recognizable brand of the City, and long tradition encouraged the establishment of brewing studies at Karlovac University of Applied Sciences, which indicates the importance of beer production in the local area.
The first Karlovačko beer produced from Croatian barley appeared on the market in 2015. This way the producer wants to ensure sustainable domestic production of a key ingredient in beer production in order to contribute to development and provide support to the local economy.
