POI BRIEF DESCRIPTION
Description of the POI The castle of Arcano Superiore was built in the XII century by Ropretto, he was the son of Leonardo a component of the royal family of Croatia that inherited the land where the castle was built, from emperor Ottone II. In the 1420 the castle was under the domination of the Republic of Venice and in the 1511 it was damaged by a peasant revolt. During the following years the castle was refurbished and expanded, today it preserves the medieval heritage with the characteristics crenellated curtains , the double tower, a room with frescoes of Andrea Urbani and other rooms with fireplaces and portals of Raffaello de' Raffaelli.
