POI BRIEF DESCRIPTION
Description of the POI Caproni was an Italian aeronautical industry founded in 1910 by Giovanni Battista Caproni. The Predappio factory was built on a pre-existent factory belonging to the Zolfi company for the processing of sulphur extracted on site. The mining activity was not very competitive and therefore the factory first became a cabinet-making workshop (Ebanisteria Castelli) and subsequently, taking advantage of the existing workforce experience (many parts of the planes were made of wood at the time), it became Caproni Air Force plant. The construction of the factory began in 1933 and ended in 1941. The industry is now in ruins.
