| POI BRIEF DESCRIPTION | |
| Description of the POI | Rocca delle Caminate is a medieval castle located around 5km from Predappio, built in the 10th century, most likely on the site of a Roman fort. In 1927, the castle was donated to Benito Mussolini and underwent a project of renovation by interior designer Guido Malagola Cappi. It became Mussolini's summer residence in the area where he used to hold meetings with dignitaries during World War II. At the end of the war, it was partly destroyed by Allied troops in search of treasure, with the rest of the furniture being removed by locals. Completely restored, it opened its doors again 2016. |

| Type of tourist experience | A fortress with a thousand-year history, immersed in a park of eight hectares in the Romagna Apennines, at about 400 meters above sea level, which is part of the Rocche di Romagna circuit. Today Rocca delle Caminate is many things: a place for events (especially weddings!), a university research centre, a museum, a park and a place for historical re-enactments. Recommended to visit it in spring or summer, looking on the official website for the events related to medieval re-enactments. |
