DescriptionThe old ceramic of the XVII century, representing Holy Mary, has a singular history and locals are deeply devoted to this piece of art. It was originally collocated in the old church on the right side of Senio River and it survived both the red week (peasants, workers and middle class exponents, mostly of anarchist, socialist, unionist and republican extraction, held together by a common anti-militarist sense, by the opposition to the colonial enterprise in Libya and by the fight against the "Army Discipline Companies", where many militants, recognized as revolutionaries, were sent for "re-education) in June 1914 and the devastation and destruction of WW2 bombs.

DescriptionThe Baptism of Crito-Baracca. The painting, located in Alfonsine’ main church, is a remake of the original painting, destroyed during WW2, representing the baptism of Christ. Both paintings, the destroyed one and the new one, are by Anacleto Margotti and the last one was commissioned to the artist by an unknow American aviator who took part in in the bombing of the bridge of Alfonsine. The model of the first painting was the famous Italian aviator Francesco Baracca, who was deeply admired by the mysterious American pilot. On the lower right side there is a writing that says: Former American aviator – operating in Romagna sky - humbly donates - to the resurrected church of Alfonsine - Baptism Christ - in memory of Hero Baracca - past historical events - hoping for Peace among Peoples.
